Tasks:
Dev meeting - 1.5 hours
Get accustomed to project - 2 hours
Glowing emission shader - 3 hours
Experiment with scene lighting - 1 hour
Add lighting to some existing particle effects - 1 hour
Total - 8.5 hours
Positives:
Nothing specific was expected of me this week so I got to experiment
Current lighting is nothing super complicated so it wasn't difficult to understand
I got the role I wanted to
Negatives:
The shader took longer to make than it should've because it's been a little while since I've written shader code
I'm a computer science student so I was split into the programmer group in the beginning but half way through the week I was assigned the role of technical artist since I have experience writing custom shaders and programming lights so I ended up in a weird purgatory between artist and programmer without an official lead to report to
Upcoming:
Get a solid direction on where we want to go with lighting as it seems to be the biggest pain point in the project at the moment
Possible screen shader for Yohan

Below is a gif showing all the different lighting changes made. The gif runs a bit slow so you can see the effect of the particle systems (The yellow lightning on the backpack and the blue lightning from the attacks).
Below is a gif of the ground glow made more subtle as it seems to be too distracting in the gif above.
