Modified existing Default Basic Rooms to be of Square Ratio - 2.75 hours
Total Hours: 5.75 Hours
Positive
I made it so that the default basic rooms that we've all grown used to are now of perfect square ratio. It fits well with how the level is now laid out.
Negative
Somehow, the Steampunk rooms' walls weren't created correctly in the main development branch for the other members of the team, but I had them on my Unity project. It was a very weird, nonsensical bug that couldn't be located and squashed, so I just ended up re-cloning the repository and re-doing the walls again, but at a faster pace (thankfully). That took up some unnecessary time, but it had to be done.
Modifying the default basic rooms brought about some side effects where the player would not be able to traverse from room to room because each room has their own set of doorways. If the starting room had doorways open, the doorways of the other rooms connecting to the starting room were not. I'm trying to get this figured out with the appropriate programmers.
There was also some miscommunication issues as I was supposed to be creating the other 20 rooms for the Demonic level's rooms, but Tyler got to it. My problem isn't with Tyler creating it. It's the fact that I was never notified of the shift. Had I not been notified, I most definitely would have spent time working on the Demonic rooms only to find out that it was already finished. That sentiment worries me.
Upcoming
I will probably work on the asset implementation of the Stone level's 20 rooms. Provided that I have time, I will also do the font stuff (finally) for documents and communications. The logo and title screen for the game has already been taken care of by Nazifa, so as much as I wanted to exercise control over that, I guess that's already done. I'll probably do some promotional and branding work in the future weeks.
