This week I worked on adding a navmesh to the Taurush and fixing its balancing issues
Overall my performance this term was far better than last term. Last term I had horrible time management, but this term I managed to consistently put up quality work.
3 things that went right:
-The added team members made things go way more smoothly
-The programmers has a much better team mentality this term. Things got done consistently and well
-The game reached a much greater quality than it had last term, it's practically a completely different experience
3 things that went wrong:
-There ended up being a LOT of miscommunication between the programmers and artists
-We had to scrap a good amount of work to complete stuff on time
-Even then, we ended up being super late to beta and even after
The lessons I learned are how valuable having a team and being able to divide the work up is in a larger project like this, you never wanna take on too many tasks yourself. I also learned that miscommunication can happen constantly and it's very important to keep in check, as it could lead to a huge amount of issues.
I will take all the lessons I learned onto my next project. Also for my next project I plan on focusing more on making my work easy to work with for others, as that was a bit of an issue I had with my code this term.
